She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Right!!?!! I just keep squirting him with the water gun! And that's probably why he's trying to bite me too! Just like I was one of the girls. I babied him way to much when he was little.

All part of our learning process.... Louie bit me the day we were loading them in the truck. Little flocker brought blood. I didn't baby them at all, so I guess its all a trade off

X2 I'd have special shoes, shoe covers, or a bleach water dip pan!

Maybe a bleach filled moat around the entire property? Lol

It may have been me. Usually a crybaby chick doesn't end well. How is it this morning?
Agreed.

Megan, how's that little one doing today??
This is what my cockerel is always doing to me...that little dance!
You need to give him a hen flogging. Otherwise, he'll bide his time until your back is turned... the results won't be pretty.

Might end up with white chickens, given their penchant for sticking their beaks where they don't belong.

Maybe so but they would be sterile, uncontaminated chickens. Lol
That actually sounds like a good idea, lol. I wish I could do that to the geese and ducks flying overhead that live in my neighborhood. I'm probably worrying too much but what if they were sick with something. All you can do is hope.

...or keep your chickens in the garage permanently, and that would stink in all senses of the word.

The 8th and final egg has pipped and is starting to zip now :fl that he/she isn't another cry baby. Just checked on the cry baby and she seems to have turned a corner, she's moving around a lot more now and she's eating a little bit.

Congrats!! I'm really looking forward to seeing them grow. I had never heard of icelandics before.
I've figured out her name: Gra`ta Barn, it means crybaby in Icelandic :D
(That's supposed to be an accent mark over the a, lol, Grata is all 1 word) Now I just need to figure out how to pronounce it :/

I like it!!

I don't remember if you said you were using a heating pad brooder?  That might make all the difference for this little one.  If you don't have any poultry nutridrench, you can order it on line.  There is also a sheep or goat formulation that you could use.  TSC should have that.

I have one young pullet who is always going up against the 2 cockrels.  The other day, all 3 of them were going at it at the same time for 1/2 hour!  What a hoot!

I hope you sterilize your foot wear before you step back onto your property.  Of course, if he comes to visit you... you've got an issue!

He does mow my lawn but only about once a month and not anymore since fall has started.

Maybe a bleach filled moat around the entire property? Lol

Right!! I look at the poop that is over at his place and it is not normal at all!!!

Yes, mine drew blood once too!! He may have to go if he doesn't get over this teenage hormonal phase!

Agreed.

What is a hen flogging?

Hi, everybody.

Feels like a long time since I was on BYC trying to figure out what to do with my rooster, Sue. We just picked up a new rooster last weekend and are almost done with his new pen- his house is already made and he's chilling in it in the garage until it's complete. After he's come out of quarantine things may really start to get interesting.

I also am slowly accumulating components for making an incubator. Sue's been actively mating with the girls and I'm trying to tally what eggs are fertile/infertile when we make our breakfast.

...maybe with a spray bottle or one of those fruit tree sprayers.

Sometimes I wish life worked that way, even for people.

You've been gone too long to give a full wrap up, so the short story is there was a divorce, but I still get supervised visitation
