She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

I ran my nail across and felt a very small "speed bump". The air cells look ok.

I'm going to erase most of my multiquote because it's already been answered! I'll just say I agree with all the different advice given in the last 24 hours! ;)

After wind, rain, ice, and the occasional snow, I went with tin roofs over 50% of the pens with hogwire over the open areas

I bought the cheap corrugated plastic roofing panels. I forget the name but there's a few threads on them. They are already starting to warp. I was thinking of replacing them in spring but with better quality. Do you prefer tin to the good quality stuff I'm talking about??

So I did some day 7 candling. Does this look like a double yolker? Didn't look like it when I set them :(

also my air cells look a little bit big. This means humidity is to high?

It looks like it's connected at the top. The pics of double yolkers I've seen, have more of a point at the middle and you can clearly see two different embryos developing on each side. Do any others look like that? Keep an eye on it. Does it look like two separate embryos on each side?

Air cells are horrible on the ones that are developing:( I don't think I even noticed air cells on the clears.  I will pay more attention to the clears the next time.

It could be that the air cells on the "clears" we're detached? When I have totally detached air cells, they won't even start to develop. They will just look clear.

I had missed that! :celebrate !

Ruby especially:

Update real quick on my new peacock contact! Jus returned hm from his place at 9 pm! Had such great talk... I told him jus like i do yall: relationships matter to me and that i want to build a working relationship with him. He has goats milk that i want to trade for for my calf :D He says he wants my green egg chicks TOO, i tol him i would Love the opp to incubate for him. He lost about 500$ in peas last yr(his Broody left the nest... )

Looks like more great fun! He lives jus up the highway from me :) i have the feelin he scoffs at our website, and that he sees me as a wanna be kid, but i also feel like i impressed him with the reserch ive done, and in the long run, i feel mostly, like he does want to work with me :)

Are you wanting to hatch peas? My neighbor threw out about 250 fertile eggs last spring! If you want eggs, I could probably get them cheap from him. He might even just give me some and I could send them for shipping cost. I took 6 last spring. All were fertile, 2 died first week. 1 died in lockdown and 3 hatched healthy!

I cant tell if this is a scratch in the ducks waxy coating or a crack :(

If it is will it still make it to hatch? The little bugger is very active :)

I had one like that, I think. And I was told here that it wasn't cracks but happened inside the hen before being laid. I'll find a pic and you tell me if it looks the same.

Cracks usually glow when candling. I do not see any glowing so it is not likely a scratch.
Sometimes people pour wax over the crack to close it. I haven't tried it yet so I can't vouch. I used tape. Lol I don't advise the tape.
Use finger nail polish on cracks. It will seal the crack and is an anti microbial to some extent. It is also much harder to come off so it is more durable.

I have 3 that look like this. The yellow in the middle then the darker colored (embryo/s??) goes in a big waves. High like pictured, rotate 1/4 turn goes low, another 1/4 turn high again then low again.

Im really considering hatching for that man, yes... He wants me to. Says he can sell the mess out of the peas. On the other hand, i have to say, i Could Not sell them, and if he backed out id be Stuck. Its in the air. Im mostly hoping to gain his goats milk, whether we trade for hatchlings or whatever, i need lotsa cheap milk for finishing birds and feeding calves. I had no idea your neighbor threw out so many good eggs! Those eggs are usually worth alot... I will be in touch, thanks! Have a gday everybody!
