She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Mum said she has one, so I think this girl is covered, lol... a packing, pond hopping Brit... that should be enough to scare the ideas outta any teenage boys pants...

Oh, I forgot about the accent...
Run away, run away!!!!

Welcome to the horny male teenager phase!! :gig

Seriously, he is feeling the hormone rush from 'puberty'... it can be awful... my advice... leave his butt in there for at least a full day and night, if not 2... a half hour isn't going to phase him one bit... a couple days might make a difference... and if he starts up again when you let him out, put him right back in... if this doesn't work though, you may need to see about making a bachelor pen or dividing your coop/pen so he can be separated until he calms down...
He needs to learn now that he is displaying unacceptable behavior or it will be harder to change later... but never let a cockerel/rooster get away with any type of abuse to a pullet...
I know the seller you are talking about, and I would never, ever buy from them... for more than one reason...

Dunno yet when exactly I'll candle or update, but will give warning, lol... Thanksgiving is no biggie, OH's parents just want us to swing by for eats... they understand hatches and we had bantams hatch last Thanksgiving, lol...

Ok, good. I'm glad his butt is in there, then. I'm wanting to keep him as it stands so it would be nice if he could learn to be a good roo. Plus the one he's after is the sweetest pullet, ever!! And my fav. I wanted to kick his butt when I saw how he was terrorizing her. And the other boys are just letting him but sending off verbal warning sounds.

So I'm right about those "breeders", huh? I knew they looked fishy and from what I read they have to be housing a lot of ducks to sell eggs all through winter like they do. Plus they have no website or FB. Just an eBay acct.

Don't let anyone make you feel like putting him in solitary is abuse... it's not... it isn't fun for him and it's not supposed to be... and it isn't abuse as long as he's not living in there indefinitely... and I am much more happier with the results from using solitary than trying to show a cockerel 'who's boss'... but this is also my personal views and experiences... others may feel differently and that's just fine... but you aren't abusing or neglecting him... just teaching a lesson...

As to the eBayer, I don't really ha e anything against them or their practices, per se... it's mostly my own personal preference... I really do not like what causes the Crested in ducks... and I will not knowingly accept eggs that could be Crested nor will I ever breed Crested... it's similar to my views on vaulted skulls, but I feel more strongly about Crested... as for having a website or FB, that doesn't bother me either... and if someone just wants Calls as pets, they'd probably be an easy source... but multiple listings at the same time says to me that they are breeding for sheer numbers and not so much for quality... I'd rather go for less at better quality than more at lesser... just personal choice... :)

Thank you everyone for the concern and warm wishes for me and my little man. He started with a regular cold on Friday night. Congestion, runny nose, cough and low fever over night. But he was still playing by himself and eating good. Then yesterday when I was nursing him for a nap, I could tell a fever was starting. Then his little heart looked and felt like it was beating out of his chest and he looked like he was having trouble breathing. So I put him in the car seat and went to our pediatric urgent care center. The nurse took his vitals and left the room. The dr came right in and said they were calling an ambulance to take him to the children's hospital in New York City. I stayed calm because this is my third boy, and I have a few hospital trips under my belt. Long story short, his fever spiked to 103 and caused the high heart rate and some tests and X-ray showed a viral respiratory infection in his lungs. Oh yeah, and a double ear infection. So he's not happy but he's holding his own. Started an antibiotic at the ER for a the ears and the respiratory virus will have to run its course. His coughing fits were so bad overnight, I basically slept while sitting on the toilet seat and holding him with the hot water running in the shower. I'm beyond tired. But glad it wasn't more serious! Now I'll try to catch up if I don't fall asleep reading! I have a few chicken behavior questions too.

Hope he gets better quick and you can catch up on some sleep!

nice job.

What did I do??? lol
Welcome to the thread!! I love the coop. I was going to ask if they would free-range or if you were planning on making a run, but Walnut beat me to it.

I do both. You're going to love keeping chickens!
Can you staple it down? Finished mine a couple of weekends ago but I didn't need to do the roof.
Yes, they do. I will pm you the link and they have grommets in them.
Oh no!!

Oh no! That's so sad. How old were they? What happened with the egg bound one?

Yay!!! What day did you set??
They are not from Long Island or jersey are they?
Looks great!!!
She's a pain in the..butt!!! lol She's doing good-so far. I have no idea what or when I'm going to do about integration....I do know my chicken diapers are ready as soon as she/he gets big enough...lol It has the Spitz comb coming in by the looks so I probably won't know until it crows or not....lol

Ummm.... before
I'm so glad I don't have daughters

My step-daughter brought a 19-year old boy home when she was 15. My hubby literally threw him out of our house. Down the steps, out the door, all the way across the street.
He's about your size, so the little punk was scared enough to walk away quietly.
The SD got married last fall, not to that boy. That boy now has 3 kids by different women, so she thanks her dad every time that boy's name comes up. :D
