I set my local CL to alert me of any new "chicken" listings...on the lookout for pullets from the better "broodiness" breeds
Anyway, I got an email from CL this morning. Opened it & found a post for a used car for sale.![]()

Good point; I'll remember that next time. I guess that's why we pay you the big bucks.must have been a Kia.
I love people that add 200 keywords to their posts so every search will catch it.
I like to be very specific in my searches. Sometimes you can find better sellers that way. Say you put "broody" in the search field. Not just everyone knows what that means, and you may find a better breeder that way. If you searched broody on my local CL, my silkie ad would pop up. They are far from SOP, but they are broody, so I make sure that word is somewhere in the ad
Nah, the money is in the windowsGood point; I'll remember that next time. I guess that's why we pay you the big bucks.
Well my comet girls are all still good. Egg production is down of course. Do their combs get lighter red when they stop laying for the winter? I have a couple whose combs appear lighter.
And I must have 2 LOs laying! Yeah!!
That's just outrageous and disappointing. I'm so desperate for eggs I'd just about sell my car for some...lol

My Am pullets combs are starting to redden up, but nothing yetYes, they do lighten up... they'll get red again when they're ready to resume laying... pale combs is a sign of production downtime... as long as they are still active and healthy, no worries... if it happens paired with weight loss, listlessness or sudden food consumption drop then you worry...![]()
