No problem at all with the pump...........![]()
The winters do suck for humidity because of heaters. I can run completely dry in the spring-fall and keep it at least 30%, winter is 16% completely dry. A sponge keeps it nicely at 30% though.I told her that was my biggest complaint with the Brinsea, lockdown humidity. I can fix it down here with a paper towel, but I could see it being drier up there, and running the heater in the house more
That's what we were talking about yesterday, her using a styro bator for lockdown-hatch.So why not pick up a styro Hova for a hatcher? Cheap and easier to keep humidity up for 3 days...
I knew I'd be fighting it most of the year, except for July/August when the monsoons come. Probably not worth it in a lot of the country - unless you hatch in the winter and don't run a humidifier.
Se was cussing it out yesterday!!
He was so cute.
Maybe something wrong with the digestive system or the excess fluid passing?? So sorry to hear it. So glad you're here!! I was missing ya!
cause you need another.

Thank you, Amy. Nice to see you on the thread again!![]()
Rub it in, why don't you guys.
I'm actually really considering this. Which model would you recommend? Is it still air? I read somewhere that still air is better for hatch time, so I'm just curious.
Mine has a fan and we know how well I leave mine closed at hatch.Best Hova out there is the Genesis 1588, but that will set you back approx 150, no matter how you slice it...
Otherwise, I would go with the 1602n, it's still air and between 40-50 bucks depending on where you find it...
The big thing is that temps aren't as critical for the last 3 days as they are for the first 18... you don't want a spike, but a little low is ok at that point...
ETA: and still air is better if you need to assist, otherwise if you leave it closed the whole time a fan is fine in a hatcher...
