Shed Coop HELP

Hello All

I am debating on a coop for my flock of 4 hens. There is an old metal sided shed on my property and I have been thinking about using that. My concerns are ventilation so I plan to cut some windows into the sides. However, I live in Austin TX and it happens to get quite hot here in the summertime.

Would I be better off building one from scratch? I’ve done some research on plans and cannot seem to find the right one. Should I try the pre fab route? Omlet or mypetchicken?

Any thoughts?

I would convert the shed or build your own. Those pre fab coops are not made well at all. Look through this thread from earlier this week. You will probably be able to make a good decision based on your environment after reading it.
