Hi, we just purchased 2 sheep, a male and female. The ewe needs her feet trimmed badly. Is it the same as trimming goats? Her front hooves are actually turned up they are so long!! I don't want to hurt her, any sheep people have advice?

Yup should be the same as goats, I've never trimmed a goat, but loks of sheep. Just trim the wall down to where her pad is. You may want to apply some Coppertox to her feet after to kill any bacteria that may start footrot.

I agree with Dodgegal79 the sheep feet are like goat feet and just trim like the goat...go slow and try not to make it bleed. also use either coppertox or bleach water to kill what is in those hooves. The ewe will be sore for a few day or maybe not. kinda like wearing high heel shoes 24/7 and then taking them off finally...I had 1 I bought and had to trim and she was so happy after as she could walk properly. The next day she was a little sore but didnt take to long for her to be better. Good Luck...
