Shelflife of DE

If you read the ingredients in fancy expensive facial exfolients, DE is usually there. Unlike the cheaper "apricot scrubs" that contain walnut shells. Anyone tried it in their makeup kits?

I know this post/thread is from a LONG time ago now, but I just found it and read it today.
It now has me a bit scared. I don't know WHAT type of DE I have. I need to go out and look, I guess.
However, I have been using what I bought, in the coop, on the birds, and in my garden, for several years now.
I am sure it's been tracked around, probably even inside my house.
Do I need to be concerned about all that? Now I am going to worry about, not only the birds (who all seem fine, BTW), but about my kids and family!!! Is there anything I should do, other than get rid of what I have remaining IF it is not FG?

Most food grade DE looks like white flour, it also says on the bag that it's "food grade." I have a half bag in my garage, still bone dry after 8 years. Too bad we dont live closer, I'd give it to you. It's worthless and a waste of money IMO. BTW; dont snort it and wear a mask when you use it. They dont make masks for chickens.

I will go and dig out the bag to check it today.
Hopefully it is the right stuff. It is VERY powdery and 'soft' feeling.
