Best thing to do is keep an eye on your drake, actually my other girls were meaner to the ducklings than the drake. snotty things. lol

And I'll definitely keep you updated. So far, I have physically removed mom from the nest a few times (the only time I've ever been able to pick her up) so she'd eat/drink/poop. She does not like to move and makes the cutest peeps when I'm close. I wonder if she'll get nasty? My runner when broody was HORRIBLE. Nothing like red welts on your arms/hands from a 4 lb duck

How long has she been on them? Have you candled?

She's laid her last and 14th egg on the 1st. She has been staying on the next for about a week but was still laying until Thur. I haven't candled, probably won't. I tried before with my runners and never really saw anything. I don't really have anywhere that is that dark, tiny closets, bathrooms with windows etc. I'm just hoping for the best.

forgot to tell you my 3 youngest have started a new nest and they have 10 so far, but noone is acting broody yet.

So thats 2 nests now. So in a month or so you are looking to have all kinds of littte muscovy running about. Is there an envious smiley?

Not really, matter of fact when I put them in their bedroom tonight I watched them and all 3 acted like the boogy man was in the corner instead of their eggs. lol. my next age up girls which is 2 of them they are 4 this year, have only laid 2 eggs so far. and my 3 oldest which will be 8 this July haven't laid any so maybe they are going through menopause.

I am in no hurry, ususally they don't even start to lay till late March early April. think the spring time werather we had for a couple weeks got them confused and a very sex driven drake thats 9 months now.
