I always reorganize them in the morning, two little groups of 3 golf balls, that way I can tell if someone goes in the next box and kicks them around
I couldn't think of any other way to tell if anyone was showing interest in the nest box, other than sneaking out in the morning while the chickens were still sleeping and just waiting/watching, and I didn't really want to do that, lol!
Well shoot, I must be a goner then. My 3 fake eggs are in 3 different boxes, and I still reorganize them.
I do fluff up the shavings at the same time.
