I was gone a week and now my sweet pullet Rosie looks a bit off. She has more tail feathers than before. Her brothers have pretty chunky tail feathers that drop at the tip. Hers are pretty thin. Her crest is a bit more messy and her comb has grown a bit. I really hope that those aren't streamers. I only have 2 silkie pullets from her batch. Her and a self blue. They both have their issues, but I'd rather have some pullets than no pullets. Her voice has gotten slightly lower too. I hope that's becouse she's turning into a hen.
Her mother Luna's crest is also a bit messy now with long feathers sticking out left, right and center. She had a really nice molt this summer. Luna turned from a (kind of ugly) sunbleached brownish color with a small crest, beard and naked legs to a stunning shiny black, bigger crest, nice beard, fluffy legs. Out of my 3 hens Luna had the biggest glow-up.
But back to Rosie now. Please tell me she still looks like a pullet. I feel like I've stared at my silkies so much that I can't even see their traits anymore.
