It purred loudly as it rolled over, revealing its stomach.

She smiled and picked it up, still petting.

James still held Nikki's hand. "I always thought that I'd be alone forever, because I could never summon the courage to ask you if you wanted to go out with me..."

"You won't be alone now." Nikki smiled back.

The cat looked up at Jadyn with her piercing green eyes, still purring in contentment.

"Jadyn, I know you're in the woods. C'mon out." James called behind himself.

"How did you know??" She asked, walking to them.

"Cats don't just disappear." He smiled.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah...Congratulations on the new relationship." She smirked and gave Nikki a knowing look.

Nikki glared at her but said nothing.

Jadyn held up her hands and walked away.

James laughed.
