Before she could get far Connie came running up to her through the woods from the direction of camp. Without warning she ran up and hugged Jadyn and started saying "I can't believe it! Something amazing has happened!" It took her a few minutes to pull herself together before she continued. "Okay, do you notice anything different about my hair?" she said, turning around so Jadyn could get a better look at her waist-length silky blond hair.

"Uhh, no..." Jadyn took a step back from Connie. Jadyn's curly, dirty-blonde hair blew in the breeze.
 
Connie turned back around and continued. "Well I went back to my cabin and was getting ready to do some re-arranging when I slipped on something and blacked out. There were a few beakers of chemicals that were broken on the floor around me when I came-to; they must have mixed and soaked into my hair because when I woke up--promise me you won't freak out--I could do this..." Suddenly her hair began to lengthen significantly, then, almost like the arms of an octopus, it reached out towards Jadyn, gently grabbed onto her, lifted her off the ground, and pulled her over towards Connie. Connie gave her another big hug as her hair began to return to it's normal length and position. After she was done, she added, "It can stretch to around 30 feet long and, better yet, I know what chemicals were involved. I can probably try to make another batch that you could use, and what in God's name is going on over there?" She spotted the wreckage of the space-craft through the brush and asked "Jadyn, what happened over there?"
