My RIR pullets have always been on the wild side. They have never been friendly, will readily peck you, are mean to the others, etc., but they lay eggs like crazy. I don't think they ever miss a day.

Brahmas come in both large fowl (standard) and bantams. My whole first flock is LF, except for an accidental bantam, Maggie. She's a pistol. Most of my LF hens weigh around 8 lbs. My roo is 13 lbs.
They have feathered feet, which has never been a problem here even with our wet springs and winter.
They are VERY winter hardy and don't let anyone fool ya, they deal really well with summer heat. It was 95 here yesterday and I still got 8 eggs from 13 hens.
I'll see if I can get the link to my photobucket album and post it for you here. There's lots of pics of my brahmas there - but you have to go back a few pages or wade through all the pics of our "boys" (our german shepherds

lol yah I had to finally go through all my photobucket account (geez that took forever too) and organize them all into different albums. As far as weather goes, we never have extreme temps really. I mean it's pretty weird to have more than 2 or 3 days in the summer with temps in the early 90's and we NEVER go below 50 in the winter so I don't really worry about weather being a problem, the only extreme we have is that it's kinda windy depending on the time of the year.

Better yet, I decided to just post some pics here.

My roo, Thor:

Even though I'm branching out into other breeds now, I will always have some brahmas on this farm. My roo is a great roo and he will live his life out on this farm.
