Shipping eggs arived but air cell damage , please help advise : (

Hello RubyNala97 , the air sac was a brown colour and stained, usually its bright white and clean, When brown and off colour like this it usually means it is drying out which is a good sign to help a little. Also as I slowly removed the membrane and a little shell out the way I noticed the mucus membrane underneath the off colour membrane was totally none veined and a off brown colour too. There was not a single bit of blood  present which meant all the veins had been absorbed before hand. Like I said though Peafowl are meant to take 28 days from what I have researched Moglie was in fact late and I am surprised but very glad he lived and hung in there. I wouldn't of helped had he not pipped first. I only helped after he pipped and it had been more then 24 hrs and he hadn't proceeded. He was making high pitched lost calls which meant he was distressed so I knew something wasn't right and helped then.

Hope that helps a little.

Yes! Thank you. That does help. I've only hatched chicken eggs and have not needed to assist. But I've read many peafowl threads where assistance was necessary. So I just want to be prepared. I am amazed that your little guy hung in there for so long! Were your temps a little low? That can sometimes delay a hatch. But thank you for describing the membranes and how you assisted. I hope you enjoy the little guy!

No my temp was 37.5 c and humidity about 40 - 50 % so I don't know what caused the delays , Moglies egg had a very bad damaged air sack after the eggs arrived at mine as they were posted but I kept them blunt end upwards and they were turned in a tray side to side I only put them on there side on day 26th , he had not been turned from then on other then the candling I did when he hadn't hatched on the date.

Oh, they were shipped eggs!..Duh! The title of the thread! I forgot that part. That could be whole problem in itself. Shipping does all kinds of things to eggs. Plus, if you don't personally know the shipper then there are a lot of unknowns that factor into that too. I have a great article link on shipping eggs in my signature. You should give it a read, It helped me so much with my shipped chicken eggs. I have 5 pea eggs (local) that are about to be in lockdown. The air cells are starting to drawn down. I can see movement in 3 of them. The other 2 are too dark. So it should be soon now. I'm so excited but nervous. I've never hatched peas before! Wish me luck! :)
