shipping in two boxes? Confused

How cute they are. That really is a nice assortment. Hope the rest of "your" chicks get there safely also. Any idea how that box wound up with your shipping info on it?... especially if you are getting your original order also ... or maybe it is another order ....

that's the mystery. . .my name and address is on the outside of the box. but the inside says another name
(which ironically is only one letter off from my maiden name) and is an address in Mammoth lakes, CA.
HOW did it end up coming to me?? The label also says 'my pet chicken' on the inside, but Meyer hatchery on
the outside'. It's very weird.

I'm in Lewisburg, WV. I don't know if any BYC'rs are close enough to come get some. I have a friend who
raises some chickens who I bought my marans from, but she is full up. I don't really want to do
craigslist. . .I'd be sad if they went to bad home. So far they are all alive and kicking. I keep putting ones
that look a little tired over by the water and they are all drinking when I do that. Temp is staying between
86 and 88. . should be ok? they aren't huddling under the light or trying to avoid it. My coop is big, but
not big enough for this many chickens. . .. I haven't even gotten a head count to see if they threw in extras. .
it crosses my eyes trying to count them.

a friend of mine said I got a visit from the 'chicken fairy'. . .and I guess it is a blessing they are
all layer breed pullets.. . .it was pointed out that I could have gotten someone's order of frying
pan specials . . .all roosters. :hmm

I found who they were destined for on FB. I wonder if I should tell her the first shipment will be ok. . .
they went astray, but they will be fine. They will reship her order they said.

I'd post in the WV state thread for a better chance of local people seeing about the chicks, if you want to try and place some now https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/10761/anyone-in-wv
That is weird about the shipping labels, it sounds like they had to print two of them off for you, which is odd, I wonder if it did have something to do with the BL/Cochin switch... wonder how many mistakes they had on the line, somebody had to get the shipping label for the box you got the packing list/chicks for ... can just see boxes of chicks gone wrong ... My Pet Chicken is a middleman hat usually uses Meyer as its drop shipper, so how did your label get mixed in with their orders.
Is the brooder at 86-88 or the spot under the light? If they are acting fine, spread out around the brooder and eating etc I wouldn't worry about it, if they are tending to huddle under the light I would try to get the heat higher. They say 95* for the first week but for some reason that seem to be hot to some chicks.
Hope your chicks you actually ordered get to you fine...

If you found them on Facebook, I think I would say something, seems like a reasonable and kind thing to do so they don't worry about their supposed to be chicks ... especially if they mentioned getting chicks on Facebook.

it say meyer on the outside and MPC on inside because MPC uses meyer for their chicks...so the person who's box you got ordered from MPC and meyer sent the chicks

It was an honest mistake. You did not fraudulently acquire the extra chicks. You notified the sender of the mistake and they are fine with it. There is nothing to feel guilty about if you sell them.

fortunately ALL pullets. I will keep them all for a little while and make sure they get
a good start. Then I will probably give some away. I would feel guilty selling them, I
did not pay for them.
