shipping in two boxes? Confused

......

What fun!
Well, kind of....unless you don't have to room for them.

At least you now know why the 2 boxes...lol!! Hope the ones you ordered get to you OK.

There I saying I use when something funky like this happens.....'someone fffffouled up at the ffffactory!'

Before you get rid of the "extra" chicks, I would wait and see how the chicks you ordered are when they arrive. May be wise to wait a few days at least and make sure everyone is doing ok. Shipping is stressful on the chicks.

Oh I'll keep them until I am sure they are ok. so far everyone seems to be doing fine.
running around like little maniacs, eating and drinking and pooping demons. They
seem very chipper and healthy. I expect to lose at least a couple just because you
usually do. . .. I hope my own little peeps arrive in as good condition as these!

I wasn't set up for this many, so we've had to go buy more lights, more bulbs, more
feeders, and hubby is working on more space for them. I had only planned on keeping
27 chicks in that trough for a few days to get their sealegs so to speak and then move
them to the garage in a bigger area. I am wondering if I put two lights out there, if I
can move the whole lot of them to the garage tomorrow? They'll have a LOT more space
to move around.

all these chicks. . . and not a one lays white eggs. :hmm

Glad everybody is doing fine, hope yours arrive in as good a shape tomorrow. If you can keep the temperature where they need it and the area is draft free etc, no reason why you couldn't move some of them to the garage tomorrow if you are short on space. A lot of people will brood in an unheated area, I sometimes brood in an unheated outbuilding, just be sure you have two + bulbs going in case one burns out, since the temperature can drop pretty fast if it is cold out.
Funny no white eggs, but you'll have Lots of brown and green, and who knows what will be in the other box coming ........

Wonder if your box will end up in California?
