He suggested pea gravel over sand, but I didn't listen. Sand lasted a little bit but it just never dried out! So dug out what sand I could and picked up nice, round pea gravel. Ducks seem happy!

And now I can just hose down the gravel - will help keep the area clean and smelling better. Sick of flies buzzing around!

nice... I have sand but it is what the garden store called "river sand" which is a cross between sand and pea gravel. Your ducks look happy.

So many decisions to make!

I continue to tweak our system and it's been three and a half years.

For flies, I get fly predators and set up liquid fly traps, some store bought, some DIY.
