Should I be concerned?

The nice thing about these places is that they will talk to you over the phone and give you prices and instructions.  With lice, which is common, Sevin dust or permethrin will instantly kill it.  Repeat dusting in 10 days, and coop cleanout will eventually end the problem.  Lice won't cause respiratory problems, but they are a pain.  Here are a couple of links with pictures that I like:

Thank you I did have some spray, but I picked it up yesterday and it was empty.
What would I need to do if my rest came back positive.

And would my quail need to be checked too, they are not in with my chickens, but the chickens have been near the outside of the pen.

OK well i got my roo some meds, and looked him over. He definitely has mites or lice, got him some stuff for that. know as far as the sneezing i got him some meds. I do not beleive he has a respiratory infection he just sneezes, he has no weird walking or anything, the only other thing is you can hear him breathe some like he is wheezing. He doesn't act like he is feeling bad those are his only symptoms. My other chickens are also not getting sick, and they never have. Thank you for anymore info you can give but i doubt i will get them tested.

I have a few questions you guys may have already answered, but can you guys please answer it again?

  1. Can I breed them if they are carriers and sell the chicks?
  2. Could the sickness they had not make them carriers

I have spent a LONG time looking for the answers, but i can't find them.

Well I made the decision to cull the Maran roo. So he is no longer with us. Maybe the sickness will be out of the flock know.

Sorry about your rooster. In one of my earlier post I had said that mycoplasma (MG or CRD) can be passed through hatching eggs, so the potential is there for any chicks to have MG if the chickens are carriers of MG. That's why it's important to get a sick bird tested, or sent off to the state vet for a necropsy. Necropsies are not always expensive--many times $30. In some states they are more, but in some they are free. I posted a link to to have your chickens tested, and here is one to find your state vet if you need to get a necropsy done: http://www.usaha.org/Portals/6/StateAnimalHealthOfficials.pdf

Thank you very much eggcesive, but I think I am just going to hope that he do don't have it. He didn't do anything but sneeze ( I am not saying you were wrong) he didn't act weird walk weird anything, I just felt better getting him out of my flock. I am sure sad I killed him though.
