W4W, true about the rainbow of browns - from the palest cream, pink, light brown, medium brown, the Cochin's gorgeous cafe au lait brown and the Marans dark brown... she apparently just likes brown eggs because of the old city mentality - brown is local, and local is fresh. I don't know if she's ever seen a blue or a green egg, or the super dark brown of a Marans. she's a neighbor of a new customer and she comes up here on weekends from NYC. I kinda figured I should just go middle of the road, and make them fairly consistent with standard brown. I'll work her up to the various other shades over time...
I did the veg snack, they're happy... got 4 perfect eggs from the Fosters, and none yet from the Dome bc they're crammed in the nests and I didn't want to disturb anyone... heaven forbid they stand up... someone will squeeze in their spot! I'll be going back out anyway...
