Did you just call me old?!?!

TMI, but my husband left me just over a week ago. He took off in the middle of the night. IDK why, and after a few days of texting me that he was too mad, and didn't want to talk to me, I have heard nothing since last Monday. A friend of his knows what is going on, and lets me know where my husband is, but doesn't tell my husband he has spoken to me. The friends says that my husband mentioned coming home soon (maybe next weekend. Maybe soon after)and going for a motorcycle ride with me. So, I don't know if my husband is lying to his friend (likely) or what.
Anyway, being on here has not been a priority.

The pictures make them all look small. If you don't have turkeys, you don't know that they walk around and often stand hunched over. The BBW are tall enough that they need a higher run roof. They are okay under the tarp. but in the run, they can't stand completely up. The Bourbon Reds are actually taller than the roost. Their backs have been higher than the roost for 2-3 weeks.
I can guess the BBW to be about 40 and 25 pounds.
I checked for eggs at quarter after five, and all of them were gone, with a girl in a box. Since I know that a chicken can pick up an egg to move it, I am guessing that she did. No sign of broken eggs in the other 2 locations. I will look again in a little while. I had several broodies last year. IDK why I haven't yet this year.

Hugs MC!! Yes, I called you an old timer!!!! But no reference to being old at all!!! What's funny is I read through this string all at once when it was at least a year into it and I developed pic in my head of you all!! I remember thinking Cheeka must be an "older" adult because of all the experiences and advice she had!!!! I was shocked when I saw a pic and realized that while she was a grandmother she was a YOUNG grandmother. I tended to think the same thing of you, OK, Jchny because you all seemed so wise (I tend to associate wise, knowledge, etc... With age for some reason).

Heck you all could be younger than me!!!!

I'm 37 and having a huge issue w getting old. I think it's cause I have no kids so I feel pretty footloose and fancy free.... I can nap and sleep late just like a teenager!!! Lol!!!

So sorry to hear the news about the husband. Relationships suck!!! But love is awesome!!!

Wow those turkeys are big!!!!
HA! You are 37 and have an issue about getting old???

ONE!!!!
I gave Rumples another dust bath today. It is close to 90 and the flock is sitting under the bushes. If work stays busy for the month of July I am taking Rumples to the vet. It breaks my heart to see her sit all alone. Her chicks (big chicks) snuggle with her at night, but in a month or so, I am going to ease them into cooping up at night.

We are going to a wedding in Lodi, CA on the 4th of July. It is supposed to be 100+!! I am going to melt!

Uh oh scrambles!!! Better not let Mortie see that word!!! I won't tell her...

My friend got married July 7 2 yrs ago and I said "what idiot gets married in dc in July?"... It was 110 that day.

Well another idiot was me. I got married July 7 last year in Philly and it was soooo hot! But I did a simple wedding with minimal hoopla so it was bearable.

I'll be 50 in November - got my very first wrinkle when I turned 29, but it was tiny... and didn't start getting gray hair til I was 45... my Mom was white haired by 35... but I see that I am getting a bit of a turkey neck going on...

Mylee's dad, my stepson, is only 14 years younger than me, so yeah, I'm a young Omi, which is good... I can keep up most of the time... I have Jackson now too, golly he's a gorgeous boy! I haven't shared a pic of him since he was born, shame on me... I'll have to download a few from Facebook and share... he's just over a year old, and just got his first haircut.

anyway, it was so hot and humid that I have to break the no winter talk rule to say that I was running cold water over my wrists and daydreaming about snowbanks (small ones) and 20° temps... despite the miserable conditions, I collected 20 Eggs today - shocked that so many sat in the stifling heat!
