Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

If it turns out like I am hoping, then I have 4 pullets and 4 cockerels from the incubator crew. The white is definitely a pullet and lays a light blue-green egg.

W4W, the African cattle are called watusi cattle. Their horns are massive!

Cheeka is it possible to open up both of the sections of their pens for a little while to help cut down on the scuffles? Love the commentary on the new roost!

Well we've had some excitement here. I lost a second teenager to a hawk yesterday so free ranging has been officially cancelled. They seem pretty annoyed today that they weren't let out but when I came home yesterday and saw the dead chicken I was actually more upset because all the other chickens seemed so freaked out. So I'm keeping them penned up for now.

Thankfully hubby will be working on the big run on Friday and hopefully it'll be done in the next couple of weeks.

I'll let the girls free range in the evenings when I can sit out with them so they'll get some time out picking at the bugs and grass.

Got 5 Silver Laced Wyandotte in the mail today. They are hanging out in the bathroom brooder. I was going to let squirt raise them up but with everyone else being confined to the coop/pen I think it's best that these gals stay inside.

Nothing much else going on....

clindz, without pictures, those new Wyandottes don't exist!

By the way, does anyone know the official pronunciation of Wyandotte? Is it wy-an-dot or wy-an-dote? I have been saying it one way all this time and heard someone say it differently. Don't think I've ever heard it spoken out loud before, and now I'm curious.

I agree... pictures or it did not happen. I think it is Wy-an-DOT.
