Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

@MotorcycleChick , Yay for you! I always appreciate a person who is knowledgeable and helpful when doing their job!

Seriously?! No one wants to be the next to post? lol
I've been waiting forever for my husband to help me raise the chicken run door up. It drags on the ground, and is hell when it snows, or when I put leaves or clippings in the run and it gets caught in the door.
Today I finally did it. Now I have to fix the lower slats (ooooold screen door) and a gap that has formed where the pop door is.
I made the mistake of coming in the house, and now I don't feel like going back out. Lol!
I have work to do in the kitchen to, but I don't really feel like doing that either. That will take me a day or two depending on how long I work on it.
What are you guys doing today?

Working... Last week was vacay and I'm back at work meeting with mental health client. Good for you for doing the repair! I have these grand ideas to make improvements, but somehow in real life the solution is 3-10 times more challenging then it was in my head. :)

In the battle of woman vs: door, I can't say who won. I gave up on the original slats, stapled up chicken wire, then had to nail a piece of wood along the bottom where the wire isn't as low as it should be.
Still no landscapers. I guess he will get here tomorrow.
Now that I have Internet, I am reminded of what a piece of crap my computer is. I decided to get a new computer from Staples, and even mentioned it to my husband. He said a $300-400 laptop would work for me, but he told me to go ahead with the $650 one. I'm so happy I waited a few days! The computer is now $360! I almost went with the one that snaps off the keyboard to be a tablet for $450, but decided against it. I ordered the computer this morning, and it is supposed to be here tomorrow! Yeay!

nice score MC!

I've been outside with Mylee every minute that I'm home... I'm pretty tired, and have a long long workday tomorrow. couldn't get out of it... it's cool, just one day... I'll post pics tomorrow night!

I noticed the other day that my Austrolorp Aretha was going broody. So I went out yesterday and bought a dog crate and put her in solitary last night and today. I felt so bad for her while I was at work... When I got home I let all the girls free and she has been happily playing with her ladies all afternoon. No weird noises, no mad dashes to the coop.Hoping she can go back into the coop with the others tonight. Am I being too hopeful that the broodiness is broken in one day?

It could be broken--trying early is best. She may go broody again soon though.

I messaged my drug chicken dealer. I will be getting 12-16 week olds. NOT 12 to 16 1-week-olds!!!

I hope.
I told her 4-6 birds, with one being a cockerel. Not fair to leave her with all those boys, even if she does just send them to freezer camp. Her girls go broody often, and early. I don't mind. As long as I don't have to do the work, I am happy. I actually told her I preferred to not use a heat lamp. These will be laying soon too. Well, sooner than if I had gone with chicks. Another woman was offering Welsummer chicks next week. Nice for so many reasons (auto sexing, dark eggs and the fact that they are easy to sell) but the idea of the waiting for eggs and having to keep them under a lamp for a few weeks. This is much better. Besides, I can always get eggs from her when someone goes broody.
The computer got here just before noon. I miss the light up keyboard, and the keys have to be punched to work, but the battery works (my old battery has been basically dead for three years or so) and the darn thing doesn't freeze up!

I told Dave that I had gotten rid of the PO box. Soooooo now I'm going back to the post office tomorrow to pay for another year.

I already called to have the change of address stopped.
I am glad he wants to keep the box. I hate my mail carrier, I hate having to worry about whether or not I have too much mail when I'm away, and Dave wanting to keep the box makes me hopeful about my marriage. (I am so pathetic!)
Tomorrow afternoon or evening, I will be making sure the feed room is set up and the pop door is secure. I'm going to buy a lot of feed so I don't have to go to the feed store too much. That means feed in the house (rodent and temperature control).
I will be one of you guys again soon!
