Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Yikes Scrambles, you may have hit the cockerel jackpot. I can't see clearly on all the pics, but cockerels with pea combs have 3 parallel ridges down the comb. Pullets will have a single ridge down the center. The single comb from the Marans can make them look larger than I'm used to seeing (I'm a regular on the EE sexing thread), but they all look pretty large for 4 wks. Hopefully I'm wrong and you get a couple of pullets.

Whew.... I have been MIA for a long time and there was much to catch up on.
Rumples hatched 5 eggs from a friend of mine. I am hoping for Olive Eggers. They are 4 weeks old now and I am having trouble guessing the sex. I will try to get pictures when the sun shines through. I has been so smoky here, that you don't see any sunshine.

Cheeka... I have your treatment works. I have been going through some similar stuff. Pain, fatigue.....

I had an MRI last month, but I need to get a new Neuro. The current one is a quack.

Hi OK.... you are always missed!!

Blood calcium over 10mg/dl:

Loss of energy. Don't feel like doing much. Tired all the time. Chronic fatigue. (#1 symptom)
Just don't feel well; don't quite feel normal. Hard to explain but just feel kind of bad.
Feel old. Don't have the interest in things that you used to.
Can't concentrate, or can't keep your concentration like in the past.
Depression. (blog)
Osteoporosis and Osteopenia.
Bones hurt; typically it's bones in the legs and arms but can be most bones.
Don't sleep like you used to. Wake up in middle of night. Trouble getting to sleep.
Tired during the day and frequently feel like you want a nap (but naps don't help).
Spouse claims you are more irritable and harder to get along with (cranky). (blog)
Forget simple things that you used to remember very easily (worsening memory).
Thinning hair (predominately in middle aged females on the front part of the scalp).
Kidney Stones (and eventually kidney failure). (blog)

Recurrent Headaches (usually patients under the age of 40).
Heart Palpitations (arrhythmias). Typically atrial arrhythmias. (blog)
Atrial Fibrillation (rapid heart rate, often requiring blood thinners and pacemakers).
High liver function tests (liver blood tests).
Development of MGUS and abnormal blood protein levels.

Many people only have a couple of these symptoms. 10% of people diagnosed with fibromyalgia have a tumor causing their blood calcium to be too high. Do not let a Dr. tell you that your blood calcium is a little bit high. Over 10mg/dl will kill you in 25 years. It is easily treated.

Ronn..... I have all but 2 of the symptoms. No thinning hair, no brittle bones. It is worse in the cold weather. I told the Neuro that I feel like I am turning to stone. He laughed at me. so.... he is done. bye bye....

I had all of my blood labs, but.... my memory fails me as to where I put them.

Negative on Lyme, Epstein Barr, mono. Sed rate normal. I requested another copy of the labs... we shall see if they send them. BTW..... Lyme test is very expensive.

My wife had a tumor removed two weeks ago. She is much better now but it will take a couple of more months for all of the brain and neuro symptoms to go away. The osteoporosis will take about two years to reverse itself.

Oh goodness. I hope that she has a quick recovery.
thumbsup.gif

Most of her bone and joint pain was gone over night. She still has pain left over from an accident from last year, but she can concentrate better already and she has stopped most of her stuttering.

Her surgeon said that the number of people with this, mostly women over 50, is very mis diagnosed. The ones that they treat are the tip of the ice burg.

The brittle bones comes over time. The longer you have it, the more calcium is removed from the bones and put into the blood. The kidneys then have to get rid of it, along with calcium being eliminated into the digestive tract.

MS is mis diagnosed as this too.

W4W.... based on what you told me, I believe that #2 is female and possibly #4. #2 is the smallest of the bunch. Thanks for the input.
clap.gif

#2 was one I couldn't see well, and the comb has no color, so hopefully pullet.
#4 looks like the single ridge, but it's so pink. Maybe just hot that day?

Could be all of them have strong Marans influence. Are they pretty friendly? That's s bad sign.

Here's a 7-8 wk hatchery EE for comparison.

Hopefully cheeka will chime in! She's got tons of EE experience.
