I know! They're growing up too fast! The white one is Angel. I took them out in an old dog carrier today they love it! They were chasing gnats and exploring the cover "jungle"

Hehe, I have noticed when they first start laying its random spots on the ground, too funny.2nd guinea egg today, and was on the ground too. their pen is small so at least its easy to locate.16 EGGS! this is just way too cool!!! It never gets old... finding eggs... 3 of the 4 corners of the apple coop had multiple eggs, and there were 3 in the dome as if the pullets weren't expecting them yet, just laying on the ground... nice free ranging this afternoon, got a cute video of Pebble taking a dust bath. it will be up on youtube in about 45 minutes...
Olive has taken on a surrogate mothering role with Pebble. Peach is glued to the nest, and I put 5 eggs under her this afternoon, which she hid underneath herself right away. and I put the date on my calendar so I won't forget this time when hatchday approaches! Olive is so sweet with him, makes me happy that he has someone since his Mama gave him the boot!
Lots of things affect egg laying. I give mine the best environment I can and feed them well. Keep them with fresh water. Oyster shell, Grit, and do not crowd them. Some days they are perfect and some days they don't all lay. I'm fine with that. They are not machines so the number of eggs will vary. I have never wormed mine and unless I see symptoms of worms I never will. I would focus on these things and the eggs will show up in time. Happy chickens lay more eggs. So give them a PIEI have questions.
I had another perfect day from the Biker Chicks today. That (except for 2 days ago) has not happened in a long time. I finally wormed them to make myself feel better a week ago. So, did they have worms, and now are laying better, or is it a coincidence? The temps are up the last few days, and that could be it. But they were laying fine until about a month ago. Then again, they ... Okay. I will stop with variables. I will say that I was getting 8-11 out of 13 the past month or so.
As for the Brat's Angels, the EE are giving me fits. They began in March, and laid daily. The BCM are not laying as well as they had either, but I got two (perfect) from them today. The EE just went a whole week without laying. I get one out of 2 when I do get eggs. I think it is odd that everyone got worms at the same time (if they did).
ooooh AL! those first times in the great outdoors is so exciting for them and hysterical for us! glad you had a great day with chickies!
here's Pebble in his 50 second debut... http://youtu.be/AahMP1R2GcI
