Well, I figured out what has been killing my chickens!!!! [IMG] It is 2 huskies. They got 2 more this evening, one of them being Amelia... [IMG][IMG][IMG] I am not sure if maybe she was out of the nest for a little while or if they went into the coop and pulled her out. Clarabelle is fine, and still on her nest, and I actually put Amelia's egg under her too.... It is a little over a week behind her first egg, so she probably won't hatch it but I guess we will see! Hubby says he will take care of them if they come back. I called Animal control, and they told me to do what we needed to protect our livestock. They also said that the owners were liable for any damages as well. I don't know if we will pursue that or not, but they will be "controlled" if when they come back on our property! We were grilling out, and went to check on the grill when we saw that Jezabelle was on the porch (NEVER HAPPENS!!!!) I went to take her back down to the coop (couple 100 feet from house) and noticed everyone was gone. I saw the feathers when I got down there. Starting looking and only found 6 chickens out of 19. Followed feathers through the woods, and found one of my younger black cochins, and more cream colored feathers. Went on up the hill and Hubby found the 2 dogs with Amelia. They ran off, but I figure they will be back. Hubby will be waiting next time! So, I really hope that Clarabelle hatches all the eggs and that they are all pullets! [IMG]

Lindz, so sorry about your chickens! We get so attached! Do you know who the dogs belong to?

Yes we do get attached! It broke my daughters heart, and my son's last week! And yes we are sure they are Huskies, complete with collars! I am not sure who they belong to though...

It was a big loss. And this is the second time in about 10 days.
