Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

I completely forgot to check for eggs! no point now... Esther and Isis have been sleeping in the nest box where eggs of late have been laid... it's too dark to disturb them, if they get up, would they be able to find the way back in....??? so I'm leaving any potential eggs for tomorrow. I'll take the zero for today.
the gang loved the oatmeal fruit Pie, got quite a few good pictures and my card reader is acting up! I will have to get the laptop out and hook it up to the internet so I can share...

I also ate Carl's breast meat for dinner - cooked both halves and saved one for tomorrow. it was excellent! firm but not tough - certainly not mushy like store bought, and the flavor was fantastic! little onion powder and garlic is all I used, served with rice and peas. Lovely!

don't tempt me... I don't have any way to get one... unless I can convince Mylee's other grandmother to detour through NC on their next trip, if they decide to drive... how cool would that be?? Mylee would be delighted!

I got 6 eggs from the G.comets today, but I dropped one when I got in the house. Zauk ate it off the floor, so all I had to do was pick up the shell...

We got up to ice and rain this morning, so school was 3 hours late. Then we lost power for a couple of hours this afternoon. The chickens came out of the coop this morning, and scratched around when the rain slowed down, but spent most of the day in the coop or under it. They were pretty wet when they went in to roost tonight and wet chickens STINK!!!!

They were all cleaning up as I locked up, so maybe they will get dry and huddle up to stay warm. We have possible snow tomorrow, but that is better than the ice we had this morning! We ended up having bacon and eggs for supper. I fixed 30 eggs, a pound of bacon and 20 biscuits.

There was just a little bit left over, that me and the little girls will have for breakfast in the morning!!!!

thanks* we'll have to see what we can plan for... her other G'ma hates Northeast Winter weather, I'm not sure when they think they'll return, I think the plan is after Christmas...

I had posted a pic on FB of which this is a part... looking it over, I noticed how much larger and redder they are looking, so I cropped it to really look - I think the Cochins are getting pretty close!
