Must be something going on today because we got 6 eggs!

And one of them was green. I knew if I complained about the EEs, someone would prove me wrong.

Although it took 6 hens to lay our eggs. No one here is as talented as Madame Roger.

the pee wee eggs collected for the last 2+ weeks:

and with a Marans egg for contrast... the powdery off white egg is a Known Cochin Egg. the littlest speckled egg is from today.

the reason why I believe that those are Esther's bantam eggs is this:

these are from months ago... the outer 2 are Marans starting eggs and EE Veronica's first egg. all 3 lay a darker brown now, clearly... the Marans are laying beautiful fairly dark speckled eggs... Veronica's is maybe a little bit darker than those above. so, I know that they do get darker as time passes - it's a matter of waiting now... either they will get bigger or they will get darker.

this is a terrible pic... this is when I started to realize how poor the lighting is in this house after the sun goes down... and I was resigned to taking pics of eggs on the edge of the tub in the bathroom... but the egg on the left is Peach's first egg, the middle is a store bought egg, and the right is Blu's khaki/olive egg. Peachy's eggs are noticeably smaller, but they are really not that small for a bitty hen.

just for perspective... Peach is smaller than 1 LF fluffy butt...
