Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Forgive my poor memory, but

Cheeka, what breed is the beautiful Esther?

Chickenlindz, was it you getting the new puppy? I have been waiting for adorable-puppy pictures.

Can somebody tell me why I found a soft shell egg with a umbilical cord this morning. Laid by one of the outlaws (Rogers Gang) . All but little Roger is over two years old or right at it. Anybody ever hear of this or find one of those. Kinda gross looking. It was a undersize soft shell egg frozen to the poop board and had what looked like a umbilical cord that was about 2-3" long.
Any ideas?

OK - maybe just a trail of albumen? although... pullets have been known to lay some truly strange creations during their first months... maybe it was little rogers first "egg"? or is she not in that area? could be someone resuming and had a glitch...

W4W, Esther is a bantam Marans, Cuckoo mixed with Lemon, I believe.

THIS IS A GOOD REMINDER....of why some schools close even when there is only an inch or two of snow. This is suburban Asheville, N.C. today - where a bus overturned with middle school students on board. Keep in mind, there are no seatbelts on school buses. Six kids had minor bumps and bruises, one girl was transported with minor injuries. Curt Autry NBC 12

This is a couple hours south of me! I just about didn't send my kids to school that day, and they ended up sending them home after only 2 hours.

it's scary to think that the roads could become impassible because of ice... without the equipment for salting, sanding... plowing... and smooth tread tires = disaster.

I have 16 RIR hens and 1RIR Rooster. planing on getting 6 sex links hens

I got 8 red sex links and 7 black sex links, the black are beautiful with orange in near the neck, but 2 of them have fuzz, never got feathers was bear for a time then the fuzz came in, not sure why this happened, they where in the peep cage not with anyone to pick at them. the company said when I order more they would replace them and I got a free one but it died 3 days after I got it they are to replace that one to, but I have 29 hens and 2 roosters.

No idea! Sounds crazy

I got 10 eggs today!!!! 5 G.comet, 4 EE, and that mystery cream! I am figuring that it is new EE-Eleanor's because she is the biggest girl and it is a pretty good sized egg! I also saw new EE- Giselle lay today, and she lays a really long blueish egg. They really didn't like the white stuff, and I had to make them paths to all of the feed bowls in the run today. By lunchtime though, most of the snow was melted in the run, and they were busy scratching around!

little Roger has been laying for a while now. No pullets in with these outlaws/roughnecks. The "trail of albumen" I guess makes the most sense. Thanks
