Quote: You should have let all of your chickens in the house to pick up the crumbs and when they were done ask DH ..."Is that clean enough to suit you or do I need to get some more chickens"
And then DH's dog can go around and clean up the deposits left by the chickens. Win-win!![]()
Stupid dog will eat FF (and he is sneaky getting to it!) but not cracker crumbs or chicken poo. Heck, he is even picky about all raw food, and pepper (I pepper my eggs). BTW, "before I went out" was supposed to be "before I went out for the rest of the day"
Wow, we got 9 today! :yiipchick Only 2 more to get that perfect day. It's bound to happen eventually. Guess I'll have to wait.
Animallover, are the birthday festivities over or are you going to have a party this weekend? Didya get any good loot?
luvmc, the longer days are sure having a positive effect on the laying. And it's not even spring yet! How old are your older girls? What breeds?
MC, you should charge $1.50 for the eggs and $1 for the carton!
Quote: That's great if your 4 yr olds are still laying. Gives me hope when all 11 of mine get to that age. They will also turn one in March. Then I can officially call them hens!
Alright, so I know RIR and BR (must know on this thread) but I am stumped on OB and WLW. Let me guess... OB is Old Brahmas? Overly Broody? backward Buff Orpintons? And WLW is White Laced Wyandotte? Wild Legged Welsummer?
When I first started on BYC it was acronym overload, and I still don't know most of them.![]()

Right, so you posted before I could finish my silly response! What's WLW?
I got some chicken books and magazines, and some horticulture stuff, a book, and a bible cover. A friend of mine is spending the night Friday night.Wow, we got 9 today!Only 2 more to get that perfect day. It's bound to happen eventually. Guess I'll have to wait.![]()

The old hens don't lay often. I might get one or two eggs a week from them. They are soon to be part of freezer camp. Lol. I am going to get more chicks this spring. Some will be EE and I want to get some meat birds
