it's too cold and windy. just way too cold... I brought the chicks back inside. I had to move Peach into a kennel cab so I could use her crate. I wanted to move her into the smaller box anyway, her nest was so big, the eggs would pop out from under her. I just picked her and her nest right up, eggs and all. she didn't budge. phew.
the lady who wants a lone rooster is coming to meet RuPaul Carl on Wednesday. She needs til Saturday to get ready to take him. she lives in the next town, and is very good friends with a friend of mine. I've met her once, it will be nice to become better acquainted, and I will be able to see him from time to time.
W4W, we've got blight problems with our tomatoes. and I've got really acidic soil. I have to keep them in pots, as I've never gotten around to building raised beds... a greenhouse would be a real luxury! I got really lucky with this plot of land. in it's history, it's never been sprayed for anything outside of what the state sprayed everywhere for certain beetles ,and they stopped spraying years ago. the neighbors across the street have a swamp. I love the sound of the spring peepers. it's awesome that your land has returned to its natural state...............
one egg today. the house is being battered by the wind...
Cheeka i don't blame you, i still haven't put the babies out. The weathers been too weird. That's great hope she falls in love with Rupaul! I never do well on tomatoes, so this year i am trying pots too. I have to eat Roma, the rest don't agree with me. I flat love them, could eat them all day. I love making fresh salsa, we go thru about a gallon in a week here. I get the huge can of tomatoes now to make it. Not nearly as good from canned.
