Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Jc, thanks. With these eggs in the incubator being questionable, I don't want to do anything to lower their chances if hatching. Including turning too long.
Sorry about your flock. Go get that bull!

Hey guys, how many eggs would you let a broody sit on? I mean full size hen? What about a bantam? It came up yesterday during conversation and I was wondering what you guys would say for your Broodys. We joked about this bantam silkie trying to cover three BO chicks that where a couple weeks old. She just couldn't fit them under her but she wouldn't give up on her babies lol.

Jc sorry about your babies. At least you can make a plan and protect them now that you know. I just read that there is a coyote in town that attacked a dog (400) stitches. It worries me.

A LF can handle more than a dozen. A Silkie can probably do the same for bantam (pee wee-small, maybe medium) eggs.
The rule is shove them under her until she can't take anymore. Then take away two.
Baby had 11 under her. If I let her keep going, I fear it would have been 15!! She is now down to 5.

little roger is 2 weeks old and I will have pictures later on today
