Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

thank Heaven she is okay! wow, that's some pic... I would have been frightened to see that pic before I saw my girl... I had a bad wreck when I was 19, 2 blocks past our local hospital, I hit ice, and slid into a telephone pole, which cut through the car and pushed the engine in the front seat! if I had a passenger, they would have been seriously injured if not killed... luckily, I was alone. but my parents had to pass the car in order to get to the hospital. my Dad had to pull over to be sick. one look at the car and he truly believed I would not make it. I only got a bump on the knee from the dash board crushing in, and bruising from the seat belt... She'll want lots of soaking baths, with Epsom salts - that will help a lot. great big hugs for all of you! as far as her other Mom and the insurance and all that... it's a car. metal and rubber. replaceable. it looks totaled. oh well... the main aspect is your DD is safe and home. period.

jchny-Wow, she is lucky she escaped with only minor bruising! What an idiot the guy was leaving his truck parked on the road with no hazards, or lights of any source! I have 3 DD's that I always worry about. I feel your pain!

Cheeka-It must be hard to be happy that Mylee is home and not still with you! Maybe just a little happy.

8 Eggs for today ~ and the smaller egg in the center belongs to Peach! she finally laid an egg... I knew it was coming, she'd been squatting for me and clucking very loudly all day, and looking at all different places besides her own nest... like the commercial mop bucket in the garage. in the end, she laid in her nest... but she had the boys sounding the alarm at least a half dozen times. I ate her egg already, I've been missing them all summer... the yolks are huge, plenty for a little chicklet to eat in there...

Cheeka you are killing me! I needed the marans to be pullets, at least 2 of them!!!!!!! I am not going to get DARK eggs from cockerels..... I was hoping for a cockerel in the cochins, so that makes me happy.

awww Roger, you're always welcome here, as long as here is still mine... Wilma said you could have her roost spot in the Dome, she has been hankering for Mylee's room ever since the day she found the little girl inside the coop...

lindz, those were only guesses, I'm not so good with straight combs, they get poky early for both sexes, but I've had 6 Marans chicks grow out here over the summer... I'm hoping I am wrong about at least 1 of them
