Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

I finally got some pics! this is one from her birthday, there's another, she's blowing out the candles on her cupcakes... but... it won't load (yet)

trick or treating with Little Red Riding Hood

and the missing pic from earlier - I love her self portraits. she wanted to show off her eye makeup, and she did a great job! I just wanna smooch that face!

I love this picture - she's at Chaco Canyon, exploring, there are literally 100 pics... have to save them to my computer, will do over the next few days.

6 Eggs today.

Storm got us. No electric since 11 PM last night. Camping at home tonight. Might bring the girls inside for the extra body heat. On second thought .....I rather freeze then deal with that.

OK, that's a bummer... if I were you, rather than bringing them in... I would move out into the broody section to keep warm and have company.
up here we had serious wind, 90 mph gusts, but the rain was light and the temps warm. the power went out here for about 1 minute. but in that 1 minute, I was already headed out to the garage for the generator. I did not expect it to come back on.

Just some heavy wind here and rain. Nothing too bad! Stay safe everyone!

Unfortunately I think one of my chickies might not make it. The marans are hearty and bold, eating outta my hand. The others are slowly warming up to me...well the hand in the brooder. Not sure what is going on with the one. She's one of the polish. She's tiny compared to the rest so I wonder if she's not eating. I know some loss is expected in chickies but I'm still sad. Only had them for 3 days and I'm already attached.

Sorry about the stormy weather out your way. We've had cold mornings, but nice mild days. No rain though. It's been about 6 months now. Dry, dry, dry.

11 hens eating every day. 4 half bald from molting. 1 egg. Yep, that's it, just one egg. Yesterday was much better. We got 2.

The Mylee pics are adorable. No trick or treaters this year. The neighborhood has grown up and the few kids who still go candy collecting head into town where the houses are closer together and it's easier pickins. We didn't even carve pumpkins

but we did watch The Great Pumpkin (again)!

Power is back on. It was out about 24 hours. That broody coop would have been warm it is really starting to get "full" in there with all of those chicks getting so big. My guess is in another month it will be hard to tell RK Broody from the BR chicks because they will all be close in size. She is a small bird to begin with so she will certainly be one of the smallest when these chicks catch up
