Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

So my silkie is squatting but she's pretty young for a silkie (22 1/2 weeks). Does this mean I'll have eggs from her soon or is she gonna squat for the next 4 months and fake me out????
One week!

Have to be optimistic about these things.

Congrats lindz! I love being off by a month if it's a month early rather than a month late!!!

I had to take my elder friend to the doctor this afternoon and then for some shopping, so I didn't get to free range the flock today... kinda bummed bc it's going to rain for the next few days and they won't get out much. but they were happy with noodle Pie and I collected 14 eggs.

one of my cats has decided to use the area behind the TV as a litter box. it took me a while to figure it out, but I sure could smell it! part of the carpet is saturated and there was a bunch of poop. it's inside the back of the cabinet.

I don't know how I'm going to clean that big pee spot. I think I may end up pulling the carpet. that's $700 worth of flooring I didn't expect to spend tho'...
I have been very lucky with the few cats that I had with litter boxes. My Lily lived to 18 yrs. One afternoon I found her collapsed with fatigue, half out of the litter box. I returned her to Her Chair and she passed later that night. Used up her last bit of strength having a snack and using the box. Good cat, that one, except when she was PsycoKitty towards others.

Regarding the smell, there are those enzyme cleaners that work really well on the urine smell. Was called Nature's Miracle, but the name was bought by a different company and not sure what the good stuff is called now. You can probably find out online. It's good stuff.

Quote: True purebred Araucanas in the US do not have tails (they look like the black chicken in Scrambles' avatar). Your chick is really cute. On BYC folks call them EEs (Easter Eggers) even though the hatcheries call them Americana, Ameraucana, or Araucana. They are mostly Ameraucana, but don't meet the breed standard and most of them lay green or blue eggs, which I love. Cheeka has a bunch of really pretty EEs and I have a couple too. They are great birds!

The Egyptian Fayoumi is so distinctive looking! I like them. Are they calm?

How I think they look.

How they look. That tote is 18 inches X 2.5'. The biggest I could find.

Your little babies are going to outweigh most of my mature Seramas in a couple of days!

Hey it's Roger. I been locked up in jail. They got me at Tractor Supply. Said I was shoplifting. It is all just a big misunderstanding. That bag of scratch was already opened. My dad OK is fine but has forgot how to make PIE. He has a court date next month but I don't have to be there. Our internet service is not working but they are coming tomorrow to fix it. See you all soon unless they send me back or i get cooked. I really need to lay a egg.

Pssst... Hey Roger, you can hide out at our place. There's a BR here who's a little dim, and you can claim her eggs as yours. No one will be the wiser.
Just remember, all the food is mine.

Good to hear from you OK. Thought maybe you took off for greener pastures. You know, like Tahiti or something.

It's a nice thought, anyway. They don't have Walmart or TSC, so Roger wouldn't want to go.

Ignore that Leghorn. She's a little crazy.

I cut a deal with Wilma at cheeka's place. Wilma is going to come here and stay for a couple of months and I am going to NY and stay with cheeka. Just till things calm down. I like California but I would probably fit in better in LA. But if I have to go on the run I may take you up on that offer.Nice having a "look alike" when you are at the top of the "Meat Bird List"

Roger darling, you know I have a roost with your name on it! Wilma already has her bag packed - she can't wait to try some Kentucky Venison Pie...on last check, she packed Fannie in her bag, when questioned, all she would fess up to is with Fannie coming along, OK might get an egg before June 27th...

W4W... yes my avatar Rumples is genetically an Ameraucana, but because she does not fit the standard, she is called EE. Don't tell her that. The eggs that she is brooding are Lavender Ameraucana eggs from Pip and Peeps. I am candling tonight after dark.

Hey ROGER.... there is always room here in North Idaho for you... I could use some fresh wolf bait....

Doesn't it just bum you out when you think you have a broody only to find four more eggs? Ha ha! Three in the nest, and one in the corner under the roosts. I guess it is time to switch my last check to 7:00. 20 eggs total!!

The woman came for the eggs. I gave her 10 dozen. Now I will cook up 2 dozen scrambled eggs, and freeze them in several containers. I am not a breakfast person, but I guess I could choke down some pre- cooked food.

I had a nice morning this morning. The girls just needed the run open. I usually get dressed, the dog and I tend to the gang, then I can have coffee and play on the computer. This morning I was steaming (I saw DH's paycheck!) so I put my sneakers on. made my coffee, let the girls out, and sat on the swing. It took a while, but I calmed down while watching chicken television. I hope to spend more mornings like that. Not the bad paycheck! Watching the girls while drinking coffee. I thought I liked sitting on the sun porch. This is better!

Cats. There are the health issues, not liking the kind of litter you are using (even if it is the same stuff you always used), the box isn't clean enough. But it can also be that they need another box.
Cheeka, I know you are selling your house, but if Sears (their professionals) can't get the carpet clean, can you cut the carpet right there, and put down linoleum? It looks better in front of a entrance door, but it might be okay there too.

I also freeze some eggs, but I just mix them and bag them never cook, I got a bag out today and made omilet for hubby and myself I put 3 eggs in one, been doing this for years, also if I am makeing something that calls for egg I just take and break it in half put half back in freezer.
