Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

I looks like you have a pretty solid perimeter fence. Could a raccoon get over that? I'd worry about the chicken wire if you didn't have that fence but maybe OK will check in soon. He has great advice about predator protection.
 
I'm sure raccoons can get over the fence, and we do have them around here. The chicken wire is burried at least a foot out from the bottom of the run and the top is covered too. I am planning to keep the coop closed at night, I really don't think I'll try to increase the ventilation by leaving it open. The coop is tight. Nothing is getting in. If something tries to get into the run we'll probably see some evidence of damage then I can tell hubby "i told you so" and we'll probably change it out.
 
The guy messaged me this morning about the Sal.Fav eggs! He is putting them in the mail tomorrow!!!! I'm planning on putting 3-4 under the broody. So far she is being great with sticking to the nest. She gets out first thing in the morning for about 15-20 minutes and then again around 3-4. Other than that she is staying in the nest screaming at anything that comes close! I'll add a video in a little bit.... having to download it to youtube
 
Well, here is the video.... and yes, I am wearing gloves! She may be little but she is HATEFUL!!!!! I was looking at the calendar, and I think that she laid exactly a dozen eggs before she decided that she wanted to go broody....

I have a really cute video of the chicks with Rumples. One chick kept pecking at Rump's eye. A couple of times it latched on to her eye and Rumples had to shake her head and send that chickie flying. Funny S#!+...

My hubby laughed when I called up to the house and told him to bring me some gloves... he brought them down, and said "Aww, she can't be that bad..." and stuck his hand toward her. He jerked it back when she puffed up and screamed at him... Then handed me the gloves! LOL!

Try using a Nite Guard Predator Protector. I have one above my coop/pen.
