Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

I had to go pick up some fish at the airport this afternoon which haulted work on the run. I was gone a couple of hours sorting through the order and picking out which fish I wanted and when I got home, I saw that hubby had spent all evening finishing the run! Off to the feed store tomorrow morning for some bedding and install the roost and the hooligans are moving out on their own. They're going to LOVE that. YAY!!!

Probably they will be more happy than I am. Their outdoor pen I've been putting them in during the day is only 12 sq feet - for 15 five week old chicks. Their brooder that they sleep in is only about 16 sq feet. The run is 82 sq feet. It's going to seem like such a big world to them!

Here they are now. You can see why they can't be inside during the day. Problem is,
THIS is the coop they play in. They aren't going to go inside, and it is too cold and wet to let them be in the grass.

They are terrified of the tarp being over the pen, and this wood splits too easy to nail a few boards on. As far as the new pen goes, I keep thinking I have it figured it out to find that I don't. I just came in from trying again.
