Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

After having been gone for 2 days... the Bungees have sprouted! Holy Moly!! AND.... are you ready?? Rumples took a dust bath today. Her first that I know of in several weeks. She was actually scratching the dirt with her feet. The Bungees were right there with her. No... my camera was in the house and I was enjoying the moment too much to leave. DH just finished mowing, so I am going to give Rumples and the bungees some free range time.

Rumples is still crippled, but being able to use her feet to dust bathe was huge. She also tried to walk more. Her walking is more like running on tippy toes. I am a happy hen momma. Next weekend is making me nervous, because we will be gone for 4 days.

I need to get a bigger feeder and waterer for them. My neighbor will gather eggs, but I don't want to stress her with the chicken juggling. I think I need a bigger pen!

Can you use 2 of each instead of bigger? That way if one spills they still have a backup.

Well one of my favorite teenagers has decided to spend the night outside. She tried roosting in a tree and I should have left her alone but when I chased her outta the trees to go to the coop she ran into the woods. Sigh!!!!

hopefully she'll come home soon! and next time, if there is one... let her roost in the tree and just at dark, quietly sneak up on her and simply pluck her off the roost. she'll wake up, so get her tucked like a football quickly. then carry her home. I've had to do that with roosters. it works.
