Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

lindz, that's such a bummer. and such a difficult predicament. he needs a lot of training and you have such a full plate.

we got 5.25" of rain last night. everyone is fine, the earth is squishy, and the sun is trying to come out. I so want to let the flock out, but waiting til the sky makes up its mind. meantime, I'm doing housework... which I hate. so I want the sun to come out

@lindz8504 Well, crap. That has to be extremely frustrating and heartbreaking at the same time. I am very sorry.

It looks like Rumples will never get any better, if anything... She is slowly going downhill. I can tell that any attempt to walk is very painful. I am doing what I can for her.
The Bungees have integrated well and one of the roos was checking out the coop last night. For now, I am letting them decide where to sleep.

I am tired. Need a break.

The girls are all laying on the deck next to the grill. Dh says "They know their future" lol.

I am sure it makes a difference and I do want to try it I just think they will lay when they lay (and I will be ultra hyper-vigilant about it lol. I wish I had managed to hold off another couple weeksbecause I can tell they're not close. Brats. Driving me crazy since they were eggs. A refresher for those who are new- I thought I killed them a time or two and drove the folks here nuts with my hand wringing and whatnot. For all of your sakes I hope one goes at 16 weeks so I can quiet down.
OK started this thread, and I was thinking, "Boy, I have a 16-wk-old, and I am not expecting an egg for another 2-4 weeks!" Half an hour later, I brought in my first egg. I felt guilty!
Several batches later, I still occasionally find myself waiting. The turkeys will be hard. They aren't supposed to lay until next spring. I plan on selling 20 or so poults in May!
As Cheeka (I think) said, you didn't drive anyone crazy.

Ratchet killed another chick last night. One of Bitty's remaining two. I'm really getting fed up with him....
I really am sorry.

I am hoping wilson will come through at 16 weeks so I can calm down. My capacity for driving you all nuts hasn't even reached half. Juuuust wait. lol. I went out this morning to see if anyone had rearranged the straw in the box....newp.

As punishment, no free range time today!

Lindz - sorry about Ratchet :(. I would not know what to do. I am sure if left her own devices, our dog would kill the chickens eventually. I don't trust her so just don't have them out unsupervised ever...I don't know what I would do if the set up was different as I am sure yours is.
