Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Gave Big Broody two more eggs. So now she has 8. Separated her with netting from the other birds so she will not get any help. Countdown begins.

and couldn't resist grabbing them. I put them on the floor in my broody coop and they instantly became the favorite place for my old time girls to lay......except One...who thinks they are supposed to harbor food. Now Big Broody has set up shop in one of them with her eggs. Looks like it will get crowded in there pretty quick but I know those chicks (if any hatch) will come out of there pretty quick.......Pictures......will do.

We are having a major thunderstorm right now. The power went out 15 minutes ago and I could not find 3 of the girls . I had to run for shelter. Come on storm. Pass through so I can find my babies.

I still have yet to see egg #2, the first was 5 days ago!! One of the EE's and the Polish girl were in the coop REALLY checking out the nest boxes tonight, so maybe I will see SOMETHING in the next couple days... Crossing figers

Chicken sitter reports two! Today they laid two. Not reaching their potential at all.

Our hotel tonight has a big property next door with....chickens!
