Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

ron, they have to grow up soon eh? please tell this bunch that! it's beyond ridiculous. I was going to dig them out and put them on a roost, but figured they would disturb the entire flock if I did. before I took this pic, the big red boy standing was laying in the empty spot on the front left... nice and warm in there tho...
`That is a nice age for them!

They are very happy hanging out with mom.

TWO!!! The chickens are out in this freezing cold getting some much deserved free range time.

They can find a nice warm spot to soak up the sun.

Ameraucanas are 29 weeks old and NO sign of even thinking about laying an egg.

Yes, sometime after the winter equinox they will start laying.

It is not common because of the breed and time of year for pullets to not lay the first egg for 9 months....or so....quite sad....

Ya... Rumples, their mom did not lay until sometime in January or February and then she went all broody on me, so I got her some fertile Lavender Ameraucana eggs to sit on. Oh well.... less eggs to worry about freezing in the cold.:idunno
