Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Clindz - nice to see you!  Wow, look at all your eggs!

Ming - good luck with your mite problem.  When you're done, you wanna come over and check my coop for mites?  I don't think we have any but...I guess who knows?

Lol sure if you pay for my plane ticket ;) , it wasn't difficult to check for the mites, I just flipped over the perches to wash them and they were there crawling around. Ew.

Went to feed and admonish my girls for giving up only two eggs today (like I should complain!) and I immediately had to take it all back...my first, they are all new layers...yowza

Cheeka, how long 'til Mylee comes? She is a mini-enabler! Your ice is beautiful, but I guess I can't have that and 73°.

I think your snuggle-chick might be a cockerel? Too cute and friendly, getting wattles. When can you tell on the Silkie types?

Mylee's journey North East begins on May 13th. they are driving. should get here on the 15th or 16th at latest... I am so excited! I've been picking up "stuff" for us to do, like the "tape trendz" projects from artskills.com. I got enough fancy duct tape and sticky jewels to make a couple of little purses and a few hundred key chains... lol, she can make all kinds of stuff... plus, I have a small tile table that is missing like... all the tiles... so I though we could redo it and gift it to her newest cousin due to be born just before they arrive. bet I find tiles with chicks! the month I have with her is going to fly by. I intend to make the very most of every single day!

and I think that chick is a cockerel too, mostly because of it's size compared to the others. none of them are all that friendly, but they all calm down under my chin. I make an indescribable ticking sound... soft, goes with my breathing. they all and I mean all... respond to it. even when they are big. I think a few are cockerels... but sometimes you can't tell for months.

Nice Hug!  and a big :hugs for the hen who managed to lay that!  love doubles!

I had to hug three 'cause I have not a clue who laid it?! I like the way you think! Now that I have one, I 'totally' love 'em too. Lol
I think I have 'OCD', bad. I really want to shove it in the bator! ; o

Quote @cheeka Thanks for sharing! I "tick" at my chickens too! I do it especially if I need to calm them. I do a louder version I have to move things near the coop at night, so they realize it is me and not a predator.

I can't say that I tick, but I did always talk soothingly to the chickens if I was bra the coop at night.
Auto spellcheck changed the above word. Idk why, but it is funny, so I'm not fixing it! The word I typed correctly was, "near".
