Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Debby, yes, my photos... those are my favorite shots from yesterday... I got 4 of the butterfly that all came out, but that one was IMHO, the best. and I got several from all sides of the snapper before I carried her back to the creek.
I could see the scenery reflected in the turtles eye, so I got a macro shot of her face - took a chance of being snapped at, but she didn't do a thing until I picked her up...

neat-o huh???
There is a series of comedic Sci Fi books, The Disk World by Terry Pratchett. They are quite amusing.

Turtle has the disk world on it's back:

Rain, DH is out there mowing the lawn trying to beat the rain that is coming. Will be nice to have the lawn mowed, then let the rain water it. :)

That turtle has amazing colors! Nice shots too of him..her?

Friday will be two weeks since I began this thing with Bath Fitters. I can't believe that within the next week the shower will be done! I am glad for the problems the remodel will fix. I just don't know what to do about the things that I was misinformed about. The local manager will be coming to see me, and check the work. I'm not sure if I can hold my frustration in.
But, again. Within the week it will be over!!
Btw, I paid $3 for a dozen eggs today. The other cartoons were $5. My girls are mating and doing the egg song. They are all over 16 weeks. The countdown has begun!

ron, I love sci fi, and haven't seen this series, will have to check it out!

over the next few weeks at least, I am likely to rescue at least one turtle each day from the road. when they are as big as a garbage can lid... I can't pick them up, so I walk them back to the creek.

MC, hope Jaz is feeling better! we're all snotty up here, even Ruby Pug... allergies...

it finally didn't rain yesterday so I was able to get the grass cut and have some free range. Mylee's dad and his girlfriend and her dog came to visit for the day and her dog got out and got her mouth on 2 of my hens! I could barely get my words out, my heart was in my throat! just some minor feather loss, but still... the feather piles looked bad!
then I made a Pie that was too good... pulled Mama Cressa off her nest - she still has a small pile of eggs left plus 3 or 4 chicks, I can't tell... so Louise tried to steal all her eggs while she was up. her pile was far too large to cover and I tried to redistribute the eggs but Cressa seemed finished sitting... anyway, I left them to sort it out, figured I would take any exposed eggs away this morning, but they're all covered again.

Mylee's riding lesson was canceled - family troubles over at the horse farm. son quit, daughter left to hold the fort and do the grunt work. she was so upset to cancel, but whatcha gonna do...?

today's middle of the road rescue

and I have a single chick inside in a homemade brooder. found it in the middle of their igloo, curled up, freshly hatched, still damp with a peck mark on its head, quite chilled. peeping mournfully. it's dry now, warmer, peeping its head off, but still pretty curled up... I hope they take it back. if it makes it, that is...
