I am glad you get to sleep in. It's always so weird when you get rid of roosters. One or more. It makes a difference! I moved the 10-week-olds into the breeding pen. I now have six SPR cockerels and four pullets. The older two are 21 + weeks. She will probably start laying this week.
I will have to go through them, and figure out which boys are staying. I will keep two. One will have to be banded, and stay with the main flock when he gets old enough to be a nuisance. The others will be returned to free ranging until freezer camp.

Her reward was another story. Bert had a pacifier in his mouth. I happened to know there was one in the box next to me. Not that she ever used it. I explained to her that it was not a toy as she thought. And the purpose of it. She put it in her mouth, and looked at me with her big sleepy blue eyes, and hair wet from a bath.
 She was so precious.
