W4W, I wanted that room too, looks like a spaceship! originally, Wrangler wanted the room that is mine, with the platform for the bed... which would have been fine, but when she saw the room that is hers... that was it. I got outvoted, because her votes count as double (
??)
Chester is the "man of the house". he can snooze wherever he wants, and he does. he's often on the couch in the living room. my new bed is very firm, which is what I like. Oma's bed is very soft, the 4" pillow top calls his name and he can't resist... so it's nice, he tends to sleep with Oma, Peri the Pest sleeps with Wrangler, and if I can separate them... Mama Belle sleeps with me, but often, she sleeps with Wrangler and Peri... so I get Hershey Cat. he's a pest too. drools all over me...
Peri turned 1 in May, so year and a half... another year of pesty behavior and then she should be wonderful. then I can furnish that awesome sunroom - if I'm home, chances are good that I'm in there!
I totally have chickens on the brain. plans are swirling around in there too for how their living quarters will be set up. but I don't think I will have ducks. I'd like to, so maybe a pair. I could sink a small kiddy pool into the ground - I had to use a 2 ton crowbar to dig deeper than 2" for the last 16 years, so I wasn't so enthusiastic about putting in a pond. it's easy digging here, really easy... so easy that the neighbor had to reinforce his side of the fence with concrete to keep his German Shepherd from digging underneath to get to our yard! because every dwelling that surrounds us has large dogs, I will entirely enclose my chicken yard. avian netting will be fine to keep my birds from getting out and into the danger zones, it's going to be a fairly big project.
