Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Yeah, they are fine. Some feeds say 16, some 18. I, personally, would not do it before 16 weeks. I think a lot of us just run out of the grower/finisher anytime after 16 weeks, and switch to layer.
Now I have thought s going through my head. Hmmmm ....

Why did you have to make me doubt myself?

I am just thinking that if the girls don't lay for another two months or so, and are not going through a molt, the extra calcium might hurt them. That is not something I had thought of before. Then again, the bag doesn't mention it, and no one else has either, so I am okay now.

Well you can always mix it up with other feed, but since that are growing anyway I doubt some calcium is going to hurt anything, for the same reason I fed my puppies eggs with the shell. Strong bones and teeth.course they need some vitamins (pie) and actually vit d, fat soluble, to adsorb calcium in the first place.

I put a hen in the box thismorning. She got offended, and jumped right out. I hope she went back. I get an average of 4 eggs a day, and only one or two in the box. Will be getting another box or two today. They need to start using the box(es). I was fine when they used the corner, but the other day it was in the middle of the floor.

Half of mine are on strike. Only 4 eggs yesterday and 4 today. They got their marching boots and picket signs. Demands include more pie, of course!

The temps have been a bit cooler. Chickens don't seem to like change.
