Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

I can believe that! My eyes were watering when Belle yawned.

Yes a perfect day would yield seven eggs. But I'm getting four a day now, not bad. The late ones are real soon behind. They are all just a few days in age apart. So it should be real soon that I get a dozen every two days. They're medium in size but darn good.

Was just out petting Belle and having a little TLC session. Smelled normal. Thinking maybe it's time for her to sleep in the house again. Then she yawned in my face. A most unpleasant experience.

OMG, unpleasant... yet... so funny! poor Belle! I would try the breath mint thing, or just give her a tube of toothpaste to chew on...

Your eggs are beautiful. Great color assortment. Congrats on the perfect 6 day. I haven't had a perfect 8 day in ages.
tyvm! I love the pallet myself, and they are so delicious! I enjoy opening the nest box lid and seeing all the colors together.

Hope you got the furnace fixed! Snowing? I feel bad for all the folks who still have no power. I grew up dealing with power outages every winter, so we were always prepared. The worst part was no water (electric pump for the well). We hauled water from the creek for the horses and other animals and to flush the toilets, but after a week, you sure are ready for a hot shower!
got it fixed! it needed a major cleaning, a new insulation kit, and an injector nozzle. the guy I used for years was old when I met him... and the last couple of seasons, I think he just cobbed it to make it work, not to really run efficiently... so rather than call him back in to make a mess and then touch all the surfaces and walls on his way out the door after refusing to wash his hands... I asked my friend for help. I can do the nozzle and small stuff, but I'd never tackled the whole thing. but I can do the whole job now. we only tracked a little soot upstairs, and we washed up "good" at the kitchen sink... however, I noticed later... that my hands were kinda grimy, musta missed some and it smeared, or I picked it up from my pants... so I went to run the bath, and got a good look at my face in the mirror!

I looked like Bert, the Chimney Sweep in Mary Poppins... the bath water was dark, and I left a ring around the whole room, not just the tub. but it's toasty warm! the snow was a nuisance, stuck for a while to tree branches and cold cars, but the roads stayed clear and the stuff evaporated as the day wore on.

aren't they scrumptious???

Knock it off Roger. I will feed you. The clocks got turned back. I know you don't care. Would you dare try some layer crumble till I get out there with the junk food?

Roger is not doing well with the time change. I expect a visit from the Humane Society and PETA. From the sound of it early this morning somebody had to be getting mistreated. I mean really.....the peacock scream at 6:05 AM . Drama queen

My chickens told me roger texted the peta, but she miss spelled alot of words esp the address so your safe for now....better cancel their cell phone account. Meanwhile I had my chicken inform roger of the conditions she would be placed in....no pie ever, and she had decided not to turn you in. She has decided to find new ways to torment instead. Just a heads up.

Unfortunately what they don't realize is that sometimes euthanasia is more likely in most of the animals they SAVE? I don't know alot about the organization, but I would guess its based largely on idealist theory, not practicality. We are expect to be out of power for another week. Apparently many miles o poles are down, snapped off, when one goes it drags down the whole line...and plus they ran out of replacement poles. How annoying is that.
