SEVEN.....Pumpkin Pie And Were In Heaven

Two Days In A Row Our Dad Gets SEVEN

WOW! 25 posts to catch up on this morning! I fell asleep in my chair about quarter to five last evening, woke up at 5... moved to the couch... woke up at 7, moved to bed... woke up at 6:30 this morning... 13.5 hours of sleep... guess I needed it...

We have lots of deer up here, but no monster bucks... not enough food, not enough cover and way too many hunters... where my BH lives... they have monster bucks... I love venison... but get a bit resentful of the length of the season. I'm a hunting widow. I won't see my BH til Christmas. haven't seen him but for 2 days since bow season opened in October. Gun season starts right before my birthday, I never see him on my b-day, or Thanksgiving unless I rush around after work and drive the 54 miles down his way and wait til dark has fully set it before he will come out of the woods. then he's tired. I'm not bothering this year. working double shift on my birthday (~200 mile day, not interested in driving another 104) and after the Express route on Thanksgiving... would be 54 miles to him, then another 45 miles to his sisters place, all to listen to screeching shrill obnoxious people hollering "Ma! sit down!....... and serving food that is full of gluten and I can't eat anything but salad. you'd think after 6 years... they'd be a little kinder. I've watched her dribble contaminated food over my food and say "whoops". the one time I did eat it anyway, I was covered in hives within hours and my hair fell out for weeks following, took a year for it to grow back. never again.

enough ranting... W4W ~ that is so amazing! she is quite the sneaky gal! lucky pups to have such a yummy addition to their meals...

OK ~ She who must not be named... or You Know Who... can safely be referred to as Ogrre. Her tracking abilities will not pick up on the twist.

wish I could just say "Alohomora" lock and unlock the coop. I left the apple coop open last night by mistake. can't believe my luck that I still have 10 perfect birds this morning. I was so out of it... it was sleeting first thing this morning, has turned to snow, but is supposed to go back to raining for the rest of the day... heavy day today, always tons of mail on a Tuesday after a Monday holiday... mail moves 365 days a year... so Monday always has double because of Sunday mail that doesn't go out... so today... I have triple or better... off to work, have a great morning everyone!
Are you sure she won't figure it out? If she does there will be hello to pay. Be careful leaving that door open. That could have been ugly.

her tracking powers are only so powerful... but maybe you should just type YKW instead... (You Know Who)

and no kidding... I don't usually open that door at all, but I was showing Peach where she can go to get away from it all... private nest box, just her size... 2 roosts... she was checking it all out, the gang was still free ranging and I was slowly losing my mind to exhaustion. I know exactly how lucky I am. walking out to see it this morning gave me the most anxious and apprehensive feeling.

"Think outside the gift wrapped box. Gift different. Gift heifer" Anyone else see this ad to the right of this thread?

Now I am gonna hunt around for a mini cow, and convince DH that I must have one. Can't afford it, but ...

"If you own the cow the milks always free".......remind him of that one.....a slightly altered version of the old saying

Cheeka, you need to borrow OKs remote control...hhahahaa
You will never regret a remote controlled pop door. Greatest thing I did when I built the nuthouse. I still sit there drinking coffee in the morning and lmao at them rushing out the door like the coop is on fire when I push the button. It's like black Friday at Wal Mart everyday

Yeah, I cracked into that egg because I couldn't watch as each year tens of thousands just disappeared into thin air...took a small penalty compared to what was already taken. Getting my stuff now, before inflation....its all a gamble anyway.

Augh, poor little peach. You can send her to me, I have many small pullets...no body hangs with the monster egg layers...the little ones will be her friend. (Just kidding, I know you won't part with her) I love, love my auto door...best money ever spent.

I've thought about taking it... but at 48 (in a week) the penalty would be too much, I would blow through it too fast... if I wait, I will have the house paid off for a couple of years by then, and I will have enough to completely gut the house and redo it with new siding, new windows, new hardwood floors, put up a steel building for a coop deluxe or something equally awesome... and get a new car. I won't have retired yet either, so I'll still have a decent income, and money left over from the fund for when dirt dies and I do get to retire! I play it very safe, it's gone up and down more than a little over the years, but it's a long term investment, so riding the waves has been okay... I do have some Pre-Renaissance art pieces that would fetch a pretty penny if things get tight before I'm 59.5, and a strange sculpture from my Mom, don't ask me who the scuptress is... I have no clue, but she's famous (she might be dead by now) my mom paid 5K for this lump of bronze... and over the years it increased in value... when she gave it to me, it was appraised at 45K, so she told me not to donate it to the local thrift store... and informed me that the lady was very old and that when she died it would be worth more than 100K. it's ugly. I wouldn't have bought it. but... it's nice to have I guess... but to sell it, I'd have to bring it to NYC to Sotheby's or something. certainly wouldn't find a buyer round these parts... lol

I swear there's something that happens to a boy's mind when he gets around 10-11. Like a big chunk of short term memory just vanishes! Case in point: I asked my sweetie DS#2 to go lock up the chickens and please take a flashlight to see that they're all in. He goes out cheerfully and is back in a suspiciously short time. "They're all there!" as he heads off to his lair. "You did lock them in, right?" A pause. "Ooops. Thought I forgot something." Heads back out. The sad thing is that he even forgot that he had forgotten something! Hope this is just a phase and not a permanent condition. Sometimes I catch him just standing still. "Whatcha doin?" With a shake of his head, "Oh, um, I don't know. I forgot." Heads back to his lair. DS#1 got through this in less than a year, but with DS#2 it's taking a lot longer. Doing very well in school, but I can't figure out how.

Only 4 eggs today and none in the secret nest. Wonder if we're going to have any days with ZERO. So far so good, but the nights are getting longer.

Ugh i now have a horrible guilt trip. I put a light up in there, and timer to shut off at 8pm. I am a bad chicken mommy

but we are still at -0- eggs. Yup i broke my chickens. Spike has the stink eye on me, evil thing.... I think she is plotting a mutiny in the chicken coop! watch for odd text messages she is a sneaky one!
