So I got scammed into buying these two chickens...the people said they'd even deliver them to me because they lived close by and I thought wow nice people. When they brought them one of them looked normal and they said she lays almost every day..the other was so butt ugly and had feathers missing and redish skin from being pecked I assume..I was new at the time with chickens and asked what was wrong with her and they said she was molting but she should be done in a few weeks. And they said she was still laying eggs..which they can't if they're molting..but I didn't know at the time so I bought them and its been over 2 months maybe 3 and she still looks the same and the other hen stopped laying eggs a month ago..so anyways.. the ugly hen is so stinkin mean and loud and id like to make her into a nice broth because she's over a year old so I can't eat her..but do you think its safe with her being so nasty looking and because I don't know if she has a disease or something?
Please help! Otherwise I'm just going to throw her in some woods because no one else wants her lol.
Thanks!

You sure you should have chickens ?

I agree it sounds like the chicken who looks messed up and molting may have mites. if so then probably the other hen does as well. If you were to treat them for the mites then they may start laying again. If you want to eat them though they should still be okay to eat.

I've checked for mites! No mites. She lays eggs but I don't care at this point..I have 20 others that lay.. she'll be going into the pot immediatley!
