I was bending over to play with the young rooster that was always quite playful never really aggressive but as I was starting to pet him and he started doing his little cluckin thing the next thing I know he's savagely attacks my forefinger and bit me several times oh most maybe thought about drawing blood not really. As I stopped laughing and started petting them again he's savagely assaulted me again I'm thinking I might need stitches at this point any suggestions

I agree with AlleysChicks. You don't need a rabies shot.

Just because he bit you doesn't mean he has rabies, just that he didn't like you "playing" with him. Things that we might think of as playful, a chicken might interpret as aggressive, especially a rooster with roller coaster hormones.

Regarding stitches, pics would be useful.

If you think you may need stitches, I would have your hand looked at promptly, while stitches are still an option. Urgent care or ER visits aren't fun, but a poorly healed hand injury is less so and much longer lasting.

A quick google search nets results that say that only mammals carry rabies, though you should consider the source. Does your roo show any symptoms of any illness that could be transmitted through a bite wound? I certainly would raise your concern with the doctor, but it appears that rabies isn't among the illnesses about which you need be worried.
